About
Leilasadat Mirghaderi is currently working on the completion of her Ph.D. degree in Technology and Humanities at Illinois Institute of Technology. She also holds a Master of Architecture from the State University of New York at Buffalo and an M.B.A certificate from the University of Tehran. Her research focuses on how people use social media to make sense of space and place and addressing ethical issues of social media users. In specific, she explores how Eastern internet users use social media features with their digital activities to create a public sphere for self-expression. She is also interested in the artificial intelligence (AI) ethics and in her latest research project in the center for the study of ethics in the professions, she is studying the possibility and extent of emotional attachment to virtual assistants.
