About
Monika Sziron is a PhD student in the Technology and Humanities program at Illinois Tech. She has a Master’s degree from DePaul University in digital communication and media arts (2017) and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Superior in communicating arts (2015). Broadly, her research interests revolve around technology, media, and society. So far, this has led to researching the influence of new media on learners and educators, the social implications of automation, and robotics. Her most recent research focuses on robot ethics. She is interested in the intersection of robots, humans, and animals. More specifically, she explores the coexistence and shared histories of all three entities and the subsequent ethics that transpire by doing so. She also enjoys audio design, digital storytelling, and computer science.
