Taught by Caspar Hare and David Jones of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, this course seeks to teach students how to recognize and think through complex ethical and moral problems in science and medicine. The course looks at issues such as assisted suicide, abortion, human enhancement, and the regulation of health care. For each topic, the course readings and discussion seek to look at the history behind the issue, why disagreement about this topic exist, and how an understanding of philosophy can help lead to developing answers for these critical questions. The course site includes a syllabus, readings, study materials and assignments. Access provided through the MIT OpenCourseware System
