The article focuses on the case of graduate students of the University of Wisconsin who reported their professor for scientific misconduct. After their discovery of professor Elizabeth Goodwin's fraud on several research the students decided to report her to authorities and have propelled university officials to conduct an investigation. The students pushed through with case trusting in the adage of scientific honesty and accuracy and despite praises from other faculties and students on their professionalism it did little help as their aspirations for a doctoral degree were put on hold because of the controversy. In light of all that has happened a proposal to draft a policy that would provide protection to students from retributions for similar cases in the future is being discussed.
