AbstractThis online course is intended to provide a foundation for institutions that are working to promote Responsible Conduct of Research, and to expose investigators and graduate students to the ethical issues inherent in research. Each section includes an introduction, a look a major issues for discussion, an illustrative case study, additional recourses, and an assessment exercise that points out major points to remember. The course covers the areas of animal subjects, authorship and publication, collaborative research, conflict of interest, data management, human subjects, mentoring, peer review, and whistleblowing.
