AbstractJim Peters is the supervisor of the metallurgical research and XYZ, and just completed his annual performance evaluations for his 12 person research team. Suddenly, his immediate supervisor storms into his office and tell him that he has rated all of his engineers too highly, and much change his evaluation to fit the "normal distribution". Even though Jim thinks that the majority of his engineers are extremely high achievers, he adjusts their ranking on the scale, without changing his comments. When his employees see their new ranking, many are extremely upset.
