The Federal Trade Commission maintains a newsroom for consumers and businesses with summaries of the FTC's latest reports and actions. This is a great place to look for new cases in business and marketing ethics.National Fraud Information Center
While this organization covers all forms of Internet and telemarketing fraud, it does include a number of good statistics and information about recent advertising scams. A good starting point for topics on false advertising.Social Marketing Institute
This institute uses commercial marketing concepts and tools in programs designed to influence individuals’ behavior to improve their well being and that of society. Databases:
Galvin Library subscribes to a number of databases that can be useful in researching topics in marketing ethics. Oftentimes, a keyword search will turn up a number of helpful articles from academic journals, trade publications, and business periodicals.
Business Source Premier is a database of academic journals such as Business Ethics , trade publications such as the Journal of Marketing and Public Policy, country and industry reports, company profiles, and market research reports. Has advanced search capabilities and offers full-text for most articles.
JSTOR-The Scholarly Journal Archive covers a number of disciplines, including business, law, psychology, and public policy. Articles come mostly from academic journals such as the Journal of Consumer Research and the Journal of Consumer Psychology. Searches in this database will pull up articles in business and related disciplines.
Philosopher's Index is a collection of citations of philosophy articles. Contains many citations of articles discussing philosophical and ethical theories at work in many disciplines and situations, including issues of marketing ethics. Database marks which journal articles are held by IIT libraries.
Project Muse is a database of scholarly articles on from the humanities and social sciences. This database holds articles from a number of philosophy journals that often have articles relating to business and marketing ethics. Full-text provided by Paul V. Galvin Library
