Books

CSEP Library has a large collection of books, bibliographies, professional directories, government reports and regulations, court decisions, unpublished manuscripts, and conference proceedings published from 1975 to the present. All these materials can be checked out by IIT students, faculty and staff.

Use the resources below to find books, videos, journals, e-books, government documents, and other printed materials held by all IIT Libraries, including the Ethics Center Library.

IIT Library Catalog

Begin your book search with the IIT Library Catalog. Use the IIT Library Catalog to search for books, e-books, and print journals held by the Ethics Center Library, Galvin Library or any of IIT's branch libraries. View your patron record at "My Account" to see items checked out from IIT and I-Share libraries.

If you would like to limit your search to the Ethics Center Library's collection, go to the "Quick Limits" menu, and click on "Ethics Center Library".

To ensure the best CSEP search results, you must search either by Title or "Any Word Anywhere" (the default/keyword search).

I-Share Catalog

If the item you want is not available at IIT Libraries, then try your search in I-Share, The I-Share catalog allows access to the collections of dozens of academic libraries that are part of CARLI (Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois). You can search for, request and renew items without the assistance of library staff. Before submitting a book request, make sure the item is not available in the IIT Library Catalog. I-Share borrowing is available only for IIT students, faculty, staff and other eligible patrons.

In order to request a book, you must first create a user account.

World Cat

WorldCat is an online catalog that contains the holdings of more than 8,000 libraries worldwide.If the item is not available on I-Share, then try this catalog. You can request WorldCat for materials not owned by IIT or I-Share Libraries.This resource is limited to IIT students, faculty and staff.

  1. Search WorldCat for the items you want.
  2. When you have found a book, click the Request this item button in the "External Resources" section of the item record.
  3. You may be prompted to login to your MyILL account. If so, login.
  4. The item information will be pasted into the ILL Book request form, make sure that the information is correct and click Submit Request.
