AbstractThis article discusses some of the problems of self-plagiarism, including that repetitive or redundant publication (terms I prefer to self-plagiarism) wastes the resources of the research community in terms of peer reviewer time, journal effort and space, and that redundant publication may be viewed as giving unfair academic credit to authors for minimal effort.
