AbstractInternational companies are expected to play by the legal rules of where they do business. but what if playing by those rules means that companies are helping repressive governments to control or harm their citizens? The question becomes particularly critical when the business in question are informational gatekeepers, such as Yahoo, Microsoft, and Google. This lesson plan gives suggested readings, in-class videos to watch on Google and censorship in China, and a number of discussion questions to help lead class discussion.
