AbstractIn 1991 a student at Pleasantville Community College browses the shelves of the college library for sources for his history paper on the historical roots of the Arab-Israeli conflict. His eye falls upon a book entitled The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a notorious piece of antisemitic propaganda. He tells a friend about it, who contacts the B'nail B'rith Anti Defamation League who lodges a furious protest with the college administration, demanding the removal of the book from the library collection.
