AbstractThe laws of all fifty states in teh U.S> require the proof of use, or threat of physical in prosecutions for rape or criminal sexual assault. However, Illinois courts tend to interpret this in an extremely narrow sense, so cases where an individual may have been convicted of rape in another state, in Illinois the defendant is sometimes acquitted.
