Abstract

Discusses the founding of the Institute of Medical Humanities in Argentina by Dr. Jose Alberto Mainetti and how concern in Argentina is turning from issues such as abortion and euthanasia to looking at the societal impacts and ethics of other professions in the sciences. A graduate level course in bioethics has been developed, and international symposiums on bioethics are also being funded, events that will help keep Argentinian scholars connected with ethics specialists from around the world.
