AbstractDiscusses the status of professional ethics in Egypt, mainly for lawyers and physicians. Though all professional societies in Egypt have codes of ethics, there is a wide gap between theory and practice. The lack of free press in the country makes it difficult to expose violations of professional ethics, and it is extremely hard to find and legally pursue instances of legal fraud.
