AbstractThough other professions such as medicine, law and business have been willing to adopt ethics courses as part of their curriculum and professional review boards to oversee the ethical conduct of their members, university professors are extremely hesitant over academic ethics. The author argues that academia should adopt its own code of ethics, and describes the reasons such a code should be adopted by the American Academy of University Professors.
