| Abstract | The author critiques the way in which risk is commonly assessed, and looks at how risk-benefit analysis rests on the same egoism, hedonism, and utilitarianism as most other forms of economic analysis. It commonly ignores costs to third parties, natural resources, and public goods. The author suggests we find ways to compensate for these deficiencies in risk-benefit analysis. |
