AbstractDiscusses a number of recent cases involving fraud and misconduct in science, and how these cases have helped raise concern that there is quite a bit of fraud in science that passes undetected. However, the author argues that the intentional misrepresentation of data is not as serious a problem as it is being made out to be, and that much of the fuss around these cases is caused by a misconception of science.
