AbstractW. Lynn Beason is an engineer who specializes in window safety, and often serves as a consultant or expert witness. He regards himself as a public safety advocate, and approaches these cases by telling potential clients that rather than being a "gun for hire," he will do his best to understand the truth of their case and tell the client what he things. They can make a decision if they want him to be an expert witness for their case or not after he has given them his expert opinion. He has even been willing to defend his professional opinion in court when he was sued for allegedly making false statements when questioning someone's window safety testing methods in his role as an expert witness.
