Abstract

Fred is a mechanical engineer who works for Super Mulcher Corporation. This company is currently debating hwo to reduce the legal liability of one of their products, the Model 1 Pulverizer which grinds yard waste into small particles that can be incorporated into the soil. The machine has a powerful engine and a rapidly rotating blade that can easily injure operators if they are not careful. In the past five years, 300 injuries have been reported of people using this machine.
