AbstractThis is a series of articles published by the Ethics Office at Texas Instruments Corporation in the company newsletter TNEWS. These articles discuss ethical issues raised by the practice of competitive benchmarking, and acceptable and unacceptable practices and that can be used by company employees to do so. The articles also look at issues surrounding reverse engineering and the legal and ethical considerations that must be considered, including patent infringement. Much of the advice seen here is in response to calls the Ethics Office has received from TI employees.
