| Abstract | This paper proposes a new definition of vocation that puts service at the center of this definition and seeing it as a bridge between a student's core values and their embodiment in community life. After exploring this concept, the authors then go on to discuss how these concepts are being emphasized in the medical informatics course being taught at Saint Louis University through the incorporation of a service-learning module. |
