AbstractFor U.S. companies working in politically unstable regions of Indonesia, many have hired the Indonesia military to protect industrial sites that might otherwise be attacked by indigenous groups who accuse these companies of destroying sacred land, polluting the environment, and hording profits. The Indonesian military, however, has a long history of massacring local populations to stop political movements.
