| Abstract | In Colorado, in an effort to improve high school and elementary student achievement, the legislature has pasted a new bill that ties teacher tenure and continuation of tenure to teacher effectiveness. In compliance with this bill, one half of every elementary and high school teacher's annual evaluation will be based on multiple measurements of student progress. The Colorado Education Association opposes this bill, citing budget-mandated larger class size, lack of parental involvement, and ill-defined measures of student progress. |
