This web site offers a large selection of guidance documents for new Principal Investigators and researchers looking at the beginning stage of planning their research. It includes material to help a researcher decide if their research protocal needs to go through IRB review, an explanation of the critera IRBs use to evaluate a protocol, tips and templates for writing a protocol, and consent forms for biomedical and social/behavioral research, as well as guidance for taking oral histories, study closures, the protection of private information of reearch participants, and how to coordinate multi-site and off-site research.
