Discusses the use of the phrase, lethal anomalies, in referring to congenital syndromes, and the practice of withholding or requesting treatment for children with lethal anomalies. Examples of congenital syndromes being referred to as lethal anomalies; Historical overview on the practice of recommending that invasive treatment be withheld or withdrawn from infants with lethal anomalies; Ethical issues and arguments against providing medical treatment for life threatening problems to all infants with lethal anomalies.
