AbstractThe article presents an essay on transhumanism, which is the intellectual and cultural movement that affirms the possibility and desirability of improving human condition through applied reason and by developing technologies to eliminate aging and enhance human intellectual, physical and psychological capacities. Posthumans, the descendants of transhumanists, are future beings whose basic capacities exceed those of present humans and are resistant to disease and impervious to aging.
