| Abstract | An essay about the health care needs of the octuplets delivered by Nadya Suleman in California on January 26, 2009 is presented. After Suliman's delivery, there were concerns on the woman's ability to care for eight newborns, in addition to her six other children under seven years of age, and the potential health risks to the infants. It discusses the newborn intensive care unit (NICU), comprised of physicians, nurses, and neonatology fellows, that will perform tasks for the octuplets. Concerns about the prematurity of the babies are also discussed. |
