Abstract

Deborah, an intern at a university counseling center is treating a graduate student who is having academic difficulties due to his disappointment and anxiety over not having been in a committed relationship relationship during the 5 years he has been in his graduate program.During their latest session, the graduate student describes the woman who he has just met who has agreed to go on a date with him, and from the details he gives, Deborah comes to realize that he is talking about a friend of hers. Can Deborah continue to treat the graduate student? Includes a detailed commentary about the case.
