Abstract

This collection of essays focuses on the scope and future of intellectual property rights. Divided into three parts, the first section gives a broad overview of the main themes of intellectual property, including normative intellectual property theory and the legal structure for property protection. The second section prevents essays that look at how intellectual property theory can be used to help us understand the allocation of property rights in cyberspace, and the final section explores some of the problems raised with intellectual property protection for digital media, as protecting the rights of authors and publishers can also come into tension with the development of a robust public domain.
