AbstractThis course explores techniques for recognizing, analyzing, and resolving ethical dilemmas often faced by healthcare professionals and biomedical researchers in today's highly regulated environment. The course includes guest lectures by practitioners, researchers and regulators that include case studies, interactive small group discussions, and role-playing simulations. The course reviews topics such as conflict of interest, authorship, data management, and the protection of humans and animal research subjects involved in research. The course web site includes a syllabus, reading list and descriptions of assignments. Access to course material provided through MIT OpenCourseware.
