Abstract

The article focuses on the significant role of research ethics boards (REBs) in reviewing the proposed research studies that evaluate the ethical and regulatory requirements governing research with humans. These include the determined risk of potential harms to research participants and weigh potential risk against research benefits. It also introduces the Tri-Council Policy Statement on Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (TCPS) which guides REBs review.
