AbstractThe article presents the studies that investigated how individuals are recruited through the Internet for research studies and what type of information clinical trial Web sites provide to prospective participants in the U.S. The findings of the studies are discussed, as well as the controversies concerning the studies such as the role of incentives in recruitment for participation in clinical trials.
