AbstractThe article reports on the research coordinator's (IH) role in recruiting research participants and obtaining informed consent. It discusses the importance of informed consent and presents various formats for providing information to recruited individuals. A qualitative report and reflections of IH's experiences in conducting the study of quality of care in adult inpatients on a general medicine service and a genetic study of patients with cystic fibrosis are presented.
