Abstract

The article discusses the study that was designed to develop comprehensive approach in assessing voluntariness of consent to research and to generate data on the extent and correlates of limitations on voluntariness across diverse areas of research. The study covers the medical areas of substance abuse, cancer, HIV, interventional cardiology, and depression with initial conceptualization of limitations on voluntariness.
