Abstract

In this article, the authors offer their insights on the need for universal and uniform protections of human beings in any medical research. It is unethical for anyone to be enrolled in research that escapes regulatory oversight. The authors have also highlighted the inadequacies of the U.S. federal system of oversight and they have also advocated Congressional action to correct the defects in the federal system.
