American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer

This biography of J. Robert Oppenheimer looks at the life and story of the man who has come to represent the culmination of 20th century physics and the tendency of governments to exploit science for their own ends. It looks at the Manhattan Project, the reaction of the scientists to the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and his life during the Cold War and Oppenheimer's later role in looking at scientist's responsibility towards humanity.
