| Abstract | The Czech Republic is the only country in Europe that offers surgical castration to violent sex offenders. Though the Council of Europe's anti-torture committee has condemned the practice, some individuals who have opted for the surgery say that hit offers them the chance to live a productive life. Some professionals in the United States advocate for the use of chemical castration, a process that is reversible, for the treatment of sex offenders. |
