AbstractA a member hiring committee looking at candidates for a full professorship in a sociology department hears that one of the candidates for the position has been charged with sexual harassment in his current position. He suggests to the other members of the board that they should drop the candidate, but after more investigation it turns out that the individual was officially cleared of the charges. Should have this issue ever have been brought to the committee? If so, what should the committee do at this point? Includes expert commentaries.
