AbstractIn an undergraduate class on research methods in sociology, a professor requires students to work in groups and develop a survey that explores student attitudes on a controversial topic. This year, the topic is abortion. The Chair of the professor's department receives a visit from a student in the course who says she feels uncomfortable and unsafe asking fellow students about this topic, but did not go speak to the professor because he had been so cavalier about abortion and his pro-choice beliefs. What should the Chair do to handle this student's concerns?
