Abstract

This report is a product of the workshops on Ethical Issues in Engineering, presented by the Center for the Study of Ethics in the Professions at the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1979. It contains summaries by the editor of all presentations and some of the discussion. Speakers looked at issues such as the role of codes of ethics and professional societies in engineering ethics, government regulation, the history and socio-economic context in which engineering ethics arose, and the rights and responsibilities of engineers in the workplace. It also includes a bibliography.
