AbstractThe authors of this book argue against the use of animals in medical experiments, citing human consequences of animal-based research. Due to the important differences in animal and human physiology, they contend, animals often have a widely different response to diseases and medications than humans do. The authors support their claim with a large number of reports, and recommend the adoption of non-animal research alternatives such as clinical observations, in vitro and epidemiological studies, and computer modeling.
