AbstractThis case study describes the development of an app called Charlie which uses artificial intelligence to make diabetic care easier and more accessible. It not only tests insulin levels in the user but also collects data from the user and provides users personalized reminders to exercise, eat well, and check their blood glucose levels. When clinical trials were done, the app performed well, but users who were from racial minorities did not experience the same positive results as white users.
