AbstractShortly after taking office, President Trump signed an executive order suspending the admission of Syrian Refugees, as well as travel to the United States from seven Muslim-Majority countries. The order sparked protests and was immediately challenged in court. According to Trump, we must prioritize the protection of U.S. citizens over aiding refugees. However, protestors see the focus of this order as thinly-veiled Islamophobia and fear of multiculturalism.
