The new show Thirteen Reasons Why follows the lives of high school students living in the wake of a classmate's suicide. Some mental health professionals worry that the show glamorizes suicide. Now the series begins each episode with a trigger warning. In real life, around 17 % of students surveyed had seriously considered suicide in the past 12 months. The series has both increased suicide awareness and possibly unintentionally increased suicidal ideation.
