AbstractThe article focuses on the relationship between a doctoral student and the supervisor in the process of earning a Doctor of philosophy degree through the perspective of engineering. Topics discussed include the importance of student-teacher interaction, the several models of teaching a doctoral student, and the need to develop diverse engineering models to understand student–supervisor relationship.
