AbstractA new drug to treat Hepatitis C, Sovaldi, costs $1000.00 a pill in the United States, and while effective, many insurance companies are unwilling to pay for this expensive treatment.  Some argue that the drug company who owns Sovaldi is charging too much, others argue that research, development, and clinical trials are expensive, and drug companies need to be able to profit from their efforts.
