AbstractIn Privacy and Progress in Whole Genome Sequencing (Privacy and Progress), the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues (Bioethics Commission) addressed the potential medical benefits and important privacy risks associated with the emerging technologies around whole genome sequencing and the large-scale collection of genomic data. This module seeks ti introduce students to issues of informed consent in genomic sequencing. It includes background readings, discussion questions, and classroom exercises.
