AbstractThe article offers information on the engineering profession. Information is presented on engineers' greatest job satisfaction. Examples of how engineers are clever problem solvers are given, as well as unintentional problems created by engineering projects. The importance of engineers to the waging of war is discussed. The development of engineering education in England and France is explored.
