AbstractA case study that examines the collapse of a television tower that was caught on film in Missouri Texas which caused the death of several workmen. The case raises questions about the design engineer's social responsibility to ensure safety on the collapse site, and poses additional questions about product liability isues in engineering and ethics. Case covers issues of social responsiblity versus legal liability, engineering responsibility for failed innovation, problems associated with design implimentation , and liability and negligence issues.
