AbstractThe article discusses the role-playing exercise of undergraduate research students regarding the case of Petr Taborsky, a chemistry student at the University of South Florida (USF) who was charged of patent fraud. Ethical decision-making process on the accuracy of available information and opinions of the students and faculty on the case are assessed. Some students favored that Taborsky be released without restrictions while others sided that USF should have the rights to the patents of the chemical formula he has developed.
